The Mazda CX-9 comes with one engine at all trim levels for 2018, and it puts up some impressive numbers. The engine in question is a 2.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder powerplant. On regular 87-octane gas, this engine can supply you with 227 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. If you opt to run your Mazda CX-9 with premium 93-octane gas, then your engine can output up to 250 horsepower.

Does the Mazda CX-9 have AWD?
Mazda is all about performance, so to think that Mazda would make a three-row SUV without an AWD option, is just crazy. The 2018 Mazda CX-9 does indeed have AWD available. In fact, it’s available on the base model Sport trim, the Touring trim, and the Grand Touring trim. You’ll notice that the Signature trim wasn’t listed up there, and that’s because AWD comes standard on that top level trim.
