2018 Mazda SUV cargo and passenger capacity
Sometimes you just need room, and Mazda understands that. This is why they have built three wonderful SUVs for you to choose from with the Mazda CX-3, Mazda CX-5, and the Mazda CX-9. Let us help you find the right model as we cover 2018 Mazda SUV cargo and passenger capacity.
2018 Mazda CX-3 capacity
The Mazda CX-3 is the smallest crossover in the Mazda lineup, but that doesn’t keep it from greatness. It has plenty of room to seat five people comfortably with a total of 88 cubic-feet of passenger volume. Despite its small maneuverable footprint, this passenger volume is more than many sedans.
Does it have room for cargo though? Of course it does! With 12.4 cubic-feet behind the second row, you have more room than most sedans do in their trunks. Plus, you can fold that second row down and give yourself up to 44.5 cubic-feet of cargo room!

2018 Mazda CX-5 capacity
This is the medium size Mazda crossover, and with its wonderful balance of cargo room and passenger room along with many other features, it has become the most popular Mazda crossover. Like the Mazda CX-3, the Mazda CX-5 can seat up to 5 people, but the passenger volume has expanded to 104 cubic-feet.
Your passengers have plenty of room to stretch out and relax, but what about your cargo? With all the seats up, you have 30.9 cubic-feet of available room for cargo. Fold down that second row though, and suddenly you have 59.6 cubic-feet of cargo room.

2018 Mazda CX-9 capacity
The Mazda CX-9 is the biggest SUV in the Mazda stable currently, and it seats a full 7 passengers with two in front, 3 in the middle, and another 2 in back. As expected, the passenger volume has increased again, this time up to 135 cubic-feet. Ride with your whole family in comfort.
With that added row in back, the cargo capacity actually goes down when all the seats are up. It’s still bigger than the Mazda CX-3 at 14.4 cubic-feet, but worry not, because with the third row folded down you have 38.2 cubic-feet, which is more than the Mazda CX-5 has when both are configured for 5 passengers. The second-row folds down too, giving the Mazda CX-9 a maximum cargo capacity of 71.2 cubic-feet.
