HOW TO ACTIVATE SIRIUSXM SATELLITE RADIO ON YOUR MAZDA

Do you want to learn how to activate SiriusXM satellite radio on your Mazda? We can help! SiriusXM has several advantages to regular radio. The sound is often clearer, the same channels will work all across the country, there is more variety, and many channels can be had commercial free. If your Mazda is new, then you can likely activate a four-month free trial. To do this, you have to follow the same steps for normal activation, which we cover right here.

DOES YOUR MAZDA INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM HAVE SIRIUSXM?

Before we can talk about activating SiriusXM, you will need to determine if you even have satellite radio functionality. Use your Commander to navigate to audio sources, this is the music icon on the left side when you are in the audio tab. If XM is listed as a source, and it isn’t greyed out, then your infotainment system has SiriusXM capabilities.

Just to be sure, click on it. Even if you don’t have SiriusXM, there is a preview channel that should play to indicate that you do indeed have satellite radio equipped. If your car is in a garage or a parking structure, it may not be able to pick up the signal. Remember this if you have issues.

ACTIVATING SIRIUSXM IN YOUR MAZDA

To activate SiriusXM, you will need to call SiriusXM or contact them through the web directly. We have both the phone number and a link below. Your local Mazda dealer may be able to help with this process, but you will ultimately still have to go through SiriusXM. Before you head over to their website or give them a call, you will need to find your Mazda ESN which we will cover next.

WHERE TO FIND THE ESN IN YOUR MAZDA

For SiriusXM to activate your car, they will need to identify it, and they do this with your ESN or Electronic Serial Number. This is easy enough to find. When you are in the SiriusXM audio source, which we detailed above, simply navigate to channel 0 by tabbing left. Here your ESN will be displayed. SiriusXM will require this on the phone or on their website.
