What is the Mazda MX-30?
At the Tokyo Motor Show, Mazda unveiled a wonderful surprise. It is called the Mazda MX-30 and it has everyone excited. What is the Mazda MX-30? First off, don’t confuse it with another crossover coming to the Mazda lineup as the Mazda CX-30 and the Mazda MX-30 are very different vehicles in size, design, and even in performance.
What makes the Mazda MX-30 different?
The Mazda MX-30 is an all-electric vehicle for starters. That much should be enough to set it apart from anything that Mazda has on offer, but that’s just for starters. Much of the Mazda MX-30 was constructed with renewable materials, the Mazda MX-30 marks an expansion to the MX lineup, and the Mazda MX-30 throws back to the RX days with unique rear doors that open front to back. It’s an exciting time to be a Mazda fan.

Will the Mazda MX-30 come to the U.S.?
At present, that is a matter for speculation. Mazda has made no official plans one way or another. This is the first all-electric vehicle that Mazda has ever produced. It is entirely possible that they will roll this model out solely in Europe and dip their toes in the water, or it may eventually see a worldwide release.
We do know that the Mazda MX-30 was built with both AC charging and rapid DC charging in mind, and it meets the standards for both COMBO and CHAdeMO charging allowing it to be charged at nearly any charging station in the world. As such, there is definite potential for a worldwide release.
Does Mazda have any current models similar to the Mazda MX-30?
Though Mazda currently doesn’t have any all-electric models on sale in the U.S., it does have the 2019 Mazda CX-3. This small and sporty SUV is remarkably similar to the Mazda MX-30 in terms of style, stature, and size.
