MAZDA CX-50 Trims: A Sneak Peek

According to Mazda, in a November 2021 press release, the 2023 Mazda CX-50 “offers a choice between a turbo-charged 2.5-liter gasoline engine, Skyactiv-G 2.5T, or a 2.5-liter gasoline engine, Skyactiv-G 2.5, for the powertrain, in combination with i-Activ AWD as a standard feature for all model grades.”

No official information from Mazda has been released on the Mazda CX-50 to date. That having been said, major automotive publications are talking about this crossover SUV. Here’s some of what they’re saying about the Mazda CX-50 trims and Mazda CX-50 price information:

• Car and Driver: “Mazda hasn’t released pricing or features yet for the CX-50, but we expect it will follow Mazda’s traditional trim structure starting with an entry-level Sport model and culminating in a luxuriously outfitted Signature trim. When we find out more about the CX-50’s standard and optional features, we’ll update this story with a recommendation on which one is the best value.”
• RoadShow by CNET: “The CX-50 packs a standard all-wheel drive system, heftier looks with body cladding and a new drive mode selector Mazda named Mi-Drive. It lets drivers choose between a handful of modes tuned for off-road elements, towing and more. All the while, the company wants the SUV to carry forward the brand’s recent push into a more premium space.”
• MotorBiscuit: “…the CX-50 has a more rugged design than the CX-5. It has black cladding on the wheel wells, along with bumper trim that looks similar to skid plates. Also, the new crossover SUV offers available all-terrain tires, as well as accessories like hood graphics and a roof rack. Additionally, the CX-5 is available with a stylish Zircon Sand exterior paint color option.”
