MAZDA i-ACTIVSENSE® Safety Features & Driver Assist Technology

Most new Mazda vehicles come equipped with Mazda i-ACTIVSENSE®, a driver assistance safety suite that uses technology like radar, sonar, and exterior cameras to increase driver awareness, avoid collisions, and mitigate damage if a collision does occur. Explore i-ACTIVSENSE® safety features like Mazda Lane Keep Assist and Mazda Radar Cruise Control below, and don’t hesitate to contact Holiday Mazda with any further questions!
What Are the i-ACTIVSENSE® Safety Features?
MAZDA Adaptive Front-Lighting System (AFS)
- Navigating Oshkosh at night is a lot easier with AFS, which can bend your headlight beams around corners and help you see further down the path.
MAZDA High-Beam Control (HBC)
- You need your vehicle’s high-beams for optimal visibility when driving at night, but they can also blind oncoming drivers. With HBC, advanced cameras can detect oncoming vehicles in your vicinity, and the system automatically switches between high and low beams as needed.
MAZDA Radar Cruise Control (MRCC)
- Worried about fender-benders? Mazda Radar Cruise Control detects the distance between your vehicle and the one in front using sonar. While you drive, the system automatically applies the brakes and gas in order to maintain a safe distance. Included with MRCC is the Distance Recognition Support System (DRSS), which displays the distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead.
MAZDA Rear Vehicle Monitoring System (RVM)
- Rear Vehicle Monitoring uses radar to detect the distance of vehicles approaching from behind in the adjacent lanes. If the system senses a vehicle entering your blind spot when your turn signal is on, it will alert you with aural and visual warnings.
MAZDA Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS)
- Think of this system as a Mazda Lane Keep Assist feature. Using an advanced camera system, it is able to read lane markers and recognize if your vehicle is beginning to drift. If so, the system sends an aural warning to the driver, helping to avoid a dangerous situation. Note that the LDWS warning will not engage if the turn signal is on when the vehicle departs from the lane.
MAZDA Forward Obstruction Warning (FOW)
- Thanks to read technology, MAZDA Forward Obstruction Warning recognizes obstructions directly in front of the vehicle. If the system senses your vehicle drawing nearer to the one in front, it automatically sends a warning to brake immediately.
Smart City Brake Support
- Driving in Appleton traffic? Smart City Brake Support automatically applies the brakes while you drive in low-speed urban settings, helping to avoid or mitigate head-on collisions.
Acceleration Control for AT
- Acceleration Control for AT is available on select Mazda vehicles with an automatic transmission. It sends an automatic earning to the driver if the accelerator is pushed hard when there is an obstruction in the vehicle’s path.
